Prophecy and Initiation

Blessed Imbolc! As the wheel of the year continues to turn, we are presented with the first signs of spring. The days are visibly growing longer, and Winter is slowly becoming a memory. Well, sort of. Storms continue to rage nation wide as we deal with El Niño and other big weather, including recent blizzards. Nonetheless, this is a time of renewal.

Within CAYA Coven, we celebrate this sabbat by initating our newest Hive. Those who have completed the Aspirant training are named Dedicants within the community, and those who choose are able to continue on as Initiates. This is a very special occasion, as we mark the growth and change the students have overcome, and we celebrate as some of those also continue on the path towards becoming Clergy.

Also at this ritual, we provide prophecy for the community. I wanted to share a bit of that here, for my community of readers. Using my Prisma Visions Tarot deck, I pulled the following message:

Eight of PentaclesEight of Pentacles – A girl is feeding her garden in the light of day, she is providing nourishment to that which cannot sustain itself. We see now that all of the seeds that we planted coming into the new year are beginning to bloom. This is the time to cultivate that which we want to thrive. Taking the time to tenderly deal with ones garden is a truly rewarding practice. During this process is when we can see which plants are going to survive, and which need to be pulled altogether. Approach this task with gentleness, and you will be well rewarded.

Ace of ChalicesAce of Chalices – The fountain of life – sitting atop a lively river, illuminated by the light of the full moon. Such passion is represented as the water is thrust upward from the abyss. What emotions, or pleasures, are we holding back? What can we release into the flow so that we can be sustained anew? Look to the Moon, let her show you the way back to fulfillment. It’s okay to bring forth the waters of emotion and passion. You will not be sacrificing yourself in the process, rather, you will overflow again and again.

Four of SwordsFour of Swords – Sitting on snow covered terrain, a figure is taking a much needed reprieve from the howling wind. Winter is an unforgiving season. As we are still entrenched in its’ wild ways, take the time to seek out refuge. Set aside all that you can while you tend to yourself. Find one task that you can give your undivided focus and work on it while you regain your much needed strength. Perhaps this one task will reveal to you where you can shift your focus, where you can shed excess weight.

Overall, take great care in the seeds that you sow. Tend to them with a gentle heart while you allow yourself to feel more freely. Let this work guide you to your life’s purpose. Remember to care for yourself as openhearted as you do your projects. For without you, your projects are meaningless. Find reprieve when you need it, and let it guide you to what you can trim away.
